The film clocks in at 168 minutes – slightly bloated, like a fish-bitten corpse that's floated for a few days.īut batten down the hatches for the climax, an epic battle scene between the two pirate ships, The Flying Dutchman and The Black Pearl. It's a good thing, too – Depp's poncy pirate wears a little thin in At World's End, which hit stores Tuesday in Blu-ray and two-disc DVD formats.
But in the final installment of Disney's pirate trilogy, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, a giant storm – cooked up with CGI magic and an impressive display of old-school special-effects muscle – steals the show. Johnny Depp's loopy portrayal of pirate Captain Jack Sparrow lit up the screen in the first Pirates of the Caribbean flick, and a crew of submarine sailors with squid bits where their faces should be lifted the second.
